Lash Extensions

Q: HOW LONG DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

A: Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically 6 to 8 weeks. Each person’s lash growth is somewhat variable (just like hair growth) – I suggest lash maintenance  2 to 3 weeks to maintain a full look. Leaving more than 4 weeks between your infill appointments will mean that we will have to do a new full set.

Q: WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND HOW ARE THEY APPLIED?

A: Eyelash extensions are single synthetic lashes applied directly to the natural lash, close to the natural lash line with a bonding adhesive. A single extension is applied to a single lash – they are applied carefully, one by one using specially designed tweezers. Synthetic lashes hold their shape.

Classic lashes

Natural looking eyelash extensions applied one by one to achieve the maximum result. I use maximum 0.15mm-0.10mm thickness that is healthy for your natural lashes and but still gives an amazing effect. 0.20mm or more is too heavy for your natural lashes and look more fake.

Hybrid lashes

Combination of classic and volume lashes for someone who wants a natural look with just a bit of extra volume. It’s one of my favourite styles – mixing classic lashes and 2d, 3d volumes. Clean look with some extra thickness.

Volume Lashes

Volume lashes are very thin and lightweight, fans (of 2-6 single lashes) that add more thickness, fluffiness and layers to your lashes. Lash fans are applied carefully – every single lash is isolated and only small amount of adhesive is used, to avoid lash clumps.

Q: HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY LASH EXTENSIONS ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN APPLIED?

A: If you do get extensions, it’s important to care for them properly. I recommend cleaning them with special lash shampoo, as it’s gentle and won’t ruin the adhesive. It’s important to clean your lashes to avoid any build up, which can lead to irritations and even infections like conjunctivitis. If you wear eye makeup, make sure you do not use an oil-based makeup remover because this will destroy the bond and make your extensions fall out. Don’t touch or mess with them too much and avoid pulling them off.

Q: HOW DO I CLEAN EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

A: Thoroughly wet your lashes with warm water. Then layer good amount lash shampoo into your lash line.

Use lash brush to get shampoo into the lashes and pay attention to your lash line, this is where dust and dirt gets stuck. Clean around the eyes too.

Thoroughly rinse your lashes with warm water, twice if needed.

Bat try and brush.

Q: DOS

A: Do wash your lashes daily with a lash cleanser and use oil-free makeup remover. For better retention, you want to keep your lashes clean and get rid of any makeup residue or bacteria buildup that could lead to infections.

Oily skin types experience shedding at the faster rate than others- wiping your lids throughout the day is highly recommended to prevent the oil from travelling down the lashes (this applies for sweat also).

DO Brush your lashes daily to keep them looking nice and neat and always book in your infills well in advance to maintain the fullness and avoid any last-minute disappointments.

It is perfectly normal to lose 3-5 lashes a day, as our natural lashes shed on a daily basis.

Q: DON´TS

A: Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours following your appointment, including showers, steams or saunas. Also do not expose to extremely hot sun light first 12 hours.

Do not sleep on your lashes. Whichever side you sleep on more often will encounter a higher lash loss.

Do not use  any oil-based products around eye area including make-up, eye creams, serums, lotions, etc.

Do not rub, pick or pull your lashes. You will be pulling your lashes out prematurely.

Do not tint, perm or curl your lashes, as this cause damage.

Do not wear mascara. it is extremely hard to clean all the product off completely. Mascara is a big no for volume lashes, fan will close up and new full set is necessary.

Do not come in contact with extreme heat such as ovens, blow dryers and lighters. Extreme heat exposure can loosen the curl of the extensions.

Q: HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO GET INFILLS?

A: Your eyelashes are each on their own growth cycle – that’s why they don’t all fall out at the same time. Your natural lashes are replaced every 6-8 weeks and with them some of your extensions will fall out as well – this is why infills are needed. Infills should be done every 2-3 weeks and one appointment takes 2 hours to complete. Keep in mind that if your infill appointment is more than 4 weeks from your last appointment, it is considered to be a new full set.

The average person has 20-120 natural lashes per eye. Each eye can shed between 2-3 lashes a day.

1 week = 21 lashes

2 week = 42 lashes

3 week = 63 lashes
